Graduation Nov. 2011
Graduation was an important day for us here at the Centre. We always try to make this day special for our graduates. Each girl made her own dress, which is quite an accomplishment when you realize that the majority of them had never even touched a sewing machine before entering our Training Centre.
The trip to Betulia took a couple of hours down a long dirt road and through rivers. One river was so deep the water came over the hood of my truck. Thankfully I have a snorkel on the truck, so was able to pass without any problem, although I have to admit to a few tense moments when I wasn’t sure just how deep the river was. But everyone loves an adventure and we made it to the other side!
An exciting Day
It was an interesting and exciting day for us as we travelled to Betulia to deliver Evelin and Sulma’s sewing machines. All of the graduates are given their sewing machines to take home and use when they graduate.
But all wasn’t work, and they were able to spend some
time getting to know our students. They even got to enjoy new “cultural experiences” breaking a pinata.
